Vircom Interactive
Vircom Interactive specializes in the design and operation of massively multiplayer games. The adventure began in 1989 when Sylvain Durocher, President of Vircom Inc, opened a virtual gaming community called: The GameMaster. This community based in Quebec has become very important in a very short time. In 1993, Sylvain Durocher developed a tool that allowed GameMaster to be connected to the Internet: Major TCP/IP. This tool proved extremely useful for other BBSes and the demand was so great that Vircom was officially born. Incorporated in 1994, the company's mission is to develop and market Major TCP/IP to small and medium-sized Internet service providers. Games being at the origin of the company, an interactive division was created in 1998. Its mission was to design multi-player online games in order to provide value-added content to internet service providers. The first game designed by Vircom, The 4th Coming/The 4th Prophecy, enjoyed international success, particularly in Europe and Asia. More than 460,000 players spread across more than ten countries are now part of the T4C community. In 2000, Vircom became a member of the Cryonetworks family, an internet subsidiary of the French multinational Cryo SA. This strategic partnership provided Vircom with the resources necessary to expand its interactive division, which became Vircom Interactive.
